John Piper on the reward of Christ

The only people who are of any earthly good are those who are so radically heavenly minded that they are free from this world. Free from stuff.  Stuff, stuff, stuff, stuff is killing us. Houses are killing us. Books are killing us. Carpet is killing us. Cars are killing us. Computers are killing us. What creates this craziness? What creates this radical, risk-taking, sacrificial life is the reward. It’s coming, and it is everything to me! . . . Christ–supreme, glorious, magnificent, and precious–is that reward.

John Piper, source.

Good stuff, Josh. I ran across your blog via WordPress – excited that we’re both in Memphis! I’m sure we run in similar circles.

Thank you, Drew. I’m familiar with a number of people who are involved with SOS, which I saw that you work with.
